Create a WhatsApp Poll on Android and iOS
The specialized WhatsApp app for Android and iOS shows various dissimilarities in its interface. To prevent any confusion, I’ve highlighted these distinctions and provided the steps for you. This way, it doesn’t matter which platform you’re using, as these steps will work for both. Check them out:
- Launch the WhatsApp app on your Android or iOS device. Go to the WhatsApp Group where you want to create the poll.
- Then, at the bottom of your WhatsApp keyboard, Android users will find the attach button. For iOS users, tap the plus icon instead.
- Next, choose “Poll” from the available options. A “Create Poll” window will appear. In this window, enter your question. In the “+ add” text box, fill in the options for the question.
- Once you’ve added your options, you can long-press the hamburger icon next to the options to rearrange their order.
- Once you’ve finished, Android users can tap the send icon at the bottom right corner. For iOS users, the Send button is located at the top right corner.

Create a WhatsApp Poll on the Web
If you’re using WhatsApp on a web browser or the dedicated Desktop app for Windows and Mac, creating a Poll is similar to how it’s done on the mobile app.
Open a chat or group chat where you want to send the poll. Look for either a plus icon or an attach icon on the WhatsApp keyboard. Click on it, select “Poll,” and proceed as you would on the mobile app versions. That’s all there is to it.
WhatsApp Polls have many underrated use cases, from turning them into interactive games for the group to even getting to know your partner better. I won’t give you any more ideas and risk trouble. Explore the feature to discover its full potential.
