How to Remove Symbols or Icons from Samsung Keyboard

There are two kinds of symbols or icons on Samsung Keyboard – special characters or icons in the tools. You can remove both of them.

• Go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > Layout and turn off Alternative characters.
• To remove the toolbar, go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > turn off the Keyboard toolbar.

Method 1: Turn off Special Characters in Samsung Keyboard

To prevent special characters from appearing on your keyboard:

1. Go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > Layout.
2. Turn off Alternative characters.

Note: This will not disable the long press feature, so accented characters will still appear. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable special characters entirely, but you can change the hold time on the keyboard. By doing so, you will need to hold longer on the keyboard keys for accented characters to show up, reducing the chance of unintentionally typing foreign or accented characters.

To adjust the hold time:

1. Go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard > Swipe, touch, and feedback > Keyboard touch and hold delay.
2. Select Long or set a custom time using the Custom option.

Method 2: Remove an Icon From the Keyboard Toolbar

To remove any icon from the Samsung keyboard’s toolbar:

1. Open the keyboard and tap the three-bar icon.
2. Hold and drag the icon from the toolbar to the bottom panel to remove it.

You can also use this method to remove the AI button (Stars) from the keyboard.

Method 3: Turn off the Toolbar Completely

To remove the toolbar completely and hide all icons above the keyboard:

1. Go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default > Samsung Keyboard.
2. Turn off the toggle for Keyboard toolbar.
