Snapchat Dreams: Generate AI Selfies
Snapchat Dreams, a fresh addition to Snapchat’s generative AI offerings, utilizes AI-powered image generation to craft AI portraits of users in diverse settings and backgrounds.
Distinguishing itself from other AI image generators that rely on text prompts, Snapchat Dreams operates by requesting users to submit multiple selfies from various angles. Subsequently, it generates eight AI portraits portraying users in different scenarios aligned with chosen themes, like Alternate Universes or Time Travel.
Initially, Snapchat Dreams offered eight default packs for users to choose from. However, during the holiday season, Christmas-themed Dreams packs were introduced. The first eight Dreams photo generations are free, and users can unlock another eight by making a $1 in-app purchase. Snapchat+ users, on the other hand, receive 8 free AI Photos every month. Some Dreams packs may also feature both you and a friend who has opted for them.

Initially, when the feature was launched, even non-Snapchat Plus members could create eight free dreams. However, the free option is no longer available to everyone, and some features are now limited to Snapchat+ users.
How to Create Snapchat Dreams
- Open Snapchat, swipe up to access the Memories section.
- Swipe right to the Dreams tab, tap the yellow “Create Dreams” button.
- Follow on-screen instructions, capturing details of your face.
- Tap Done or Add more photos if needed.
- Select your gender (male or female).
- Agree to terms and conditions by tapping Yes.
- Tap the yellow New Pack button, browse Dreams packs, choose one.
- Tap Unlock 8 more, wait to generate Dreams.
- You’ll be notified once the process is complete.
Note:
Although Snapchat suggests a 20-30 minute wait for your first Dreams pack to generate, the actual waiting time can vary significantly. During testing, the generation process ranged from less than 10 minutes to nearly a day. Be patient, and the app will notify you when the Dreams are ready.

How to View Dreams Photos
Once your Dreams pack is generated, follow these steps:
- Snapchat will send you a notification.
- Tap the notification to open App, then tap the yellow “View My Dreams” button.
- Swipe right to view all the AI-powered portraits generated.
- Tap “Add to Story” or “Send” to share with friends and followers.
- Alternatively, go to the Memories section to see all your Dreams AI photos in a gallery view.
