Microsoft has halted the distribution of the June 25th KB5039302 update. Despite containing noteworthy features, it has been found to cause a continuous reboot issue on Windows 11 PCs, specifically impacting versions 23H2 and 22H2. Windows servers remain unaffected.
Fortunately, KB5039302 is not automatically installed on all Windows 11 systems as it is an optional update. It serves as a preview for the upcoming standard update scheduled for release on Patchday in July 2024.
In simpler terms, KB5039302 will only be present on your Windows 11 PC if you manually installed it.
Microsoft has acknowledged the issues caused by the KB5039302 update for Windows 11 and is actively working on a solution, they said:
Microsoft is actively working on resolving the issue and plans to include the fix in an upcoming update.

What to do if you’re stuck restarting after windows update?
If your computer gets stuck in a continuous restart loop after installing the update, you will need to wait for Windows 11 to initiate the recovery environment automatically.
Once in the recovery environment, follow these steps:
- Select Troubleshoot.
- Navigate to Advanced Options.
- Choose Uninstall Updates.
- Click on Uninstall latest quality update, and confirm the removal of KB5039302.
The uninstallation process for KB5039302 may take some time. After it completes, restart your computer. It should then function correctly again.
