The latest beta update for the Windows version of WhatsApp’s New Feature a “pop-out chat”. This feature allows users to create separate windows for chats, which can be resized like other applications. Select beta users can test this feature using the WhatsApp Beta app available on the Microsoft Store.
At times, managing multiple conversations can feel like a chore, requiring constant switching between chats. Additionally, it’s inconvenient to switch to the entire chat app just to message one specific person. Fortunately, WhatsApp appears to have recognized this issue and is testing a new feature. This feature will enable users to pop out individual chat windows for each contact on Windows, providing a more seamless messaging experience.
As reported by WABetaInfo, the latest beta update (v2.2407.9.0) for WhatsApp on Windows introduces a pop-out chat option. This feature allows users to create a separate window for individual chats, detaching them from the main WhatsApp app. Users can then resize or pin these chat windows anywhere on their desktop screen, facilitating uninterrupted conversations.
The screenshot above reveals that the pop-out chat option will appear in the context menu when you right-click on a specific chat. This feature will be particularly handy when you need to message multiple people simultaneously, each having their own individual chat window. It eliminates the need to switch between chats within the same window, streamlining the messaging experience.
The feature leverages the desktop environment’s capability to manage multiple windows simultaneously. This aspect makes it particularly beneficial for users collaborating on group projects or tasks. By enabling users to handle individual chat windows separately, it not only saves time but also enhances productivity during collaborative work sessions.
While the pop-out chat feature is not yet available for all users, select individuals using WhatsApp Beta for Windows can already access it. If you’re eager to try it out, you can download the beta app from the Microsoft Store. It’s anticipated that this feature will soon roll out to the stable version. I can already envision situations where I’ll utilize this feature to focus on a single conversation.
