Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features, is set to debut on iPhone, iPad, and Macs with iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia later this year. These enhancements will be available exclusively on devices equipped with Apple silicon, such as the A17 Pro and M-series chips. This includes the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone Pro Max, as well as iPads and Macs powered by M1 chips and newer, which will receive upgraded Siri and other AI capabilities.
The latest software announcements — iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia — have been enhanced with a delightful array of AI features under the umbrella term Apple Intelligence. This includes the long-awaited contextual upgrade to Siri, OS-wide AI writing tools, Genmoji for AI-generated images, and more. However, these new AI capabilities will be available exclusively on select Apple devices. To find out if your iPhone, iPad, or Mac supports Apple Intelligence, refer to the device list below.

Apple Intelligence uses on-device processing to answer queries and maintain privacy while you use AI features on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. “Deeply integrated generative models require immense processing power,” said Craig Federighi during the event. He emphasized that Apple silicon, including the A17 Pro and M-series chips, has the computational power to enable these features.
All Apple devices with the mentioned Apple Silicon will get the new AI features. Here is the complete list of devices that will support Apple Intelligence:
- iPhone 15 Pro
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPad Air (M1 and later, starting with the 2022 model)
- iPad Pro (M1 and later, starting with the 2021 model)
- MacBook Air (M1 and later)
- MacBook Pro (M1 and later)
- iMac (M1 and later)
- Mac mini (M1 and later)
- Mac Studio (M1 Max and later)
- Mac Pro (M2 Ultra)
The Cupertino giant announced plans to expand Apple Intelligence to “additional languages over the next year,” according to their official release.
During today’s WWDC 2024 event, Apple showcased great restraint in their approach. While their new suite, Apple Intelligence, cleverly integrates modern AI capabilities, Craig Federighi mentioned it sparingly. This strategic move emphasizes Apple’s branding, making it more personal and aligned with their ecosystem.
Apple Intelligence is provided at no cost to users of all supported iPhone, iPad, and Mac models. Initially, users will need to set Siri and device language to U.S. English to access the AI features. Beta versions of macOS Sequoia, iPadOS 18, and iOS 18 will enable users to test these features later this year, with the official rollout scheduled for Fall.
