Gamers who wish to maximize their rigs typically need to adjust Windows to deactivate unnecessary resource hogs and enhance performance. Although Microsoft prefers to promote Windows 11 as the perfect OS for gaming, it doesn’t solely prioritize that noble pursuit. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement for Windows 12 yet, the vast community of PC gamers, myself included, would eagerly welcome a dedicated gaming version of the operating system.
Addy Visuals unveiled his first concept of 2024: Windows 12, designed to offer a glimpse into what a gaming edition of the operating system could potentially look like.
The envisioned OS boasts a centered taskbar akin to Windows 11, but with a distinct focus on gaming. The Start menu showcases pinned games alongside a list of online games your friends are currently playing, facilitating seamless joining.
Windows 12 Gaming Edition prides itself on its lack of bloatware, offering only essential apps for gaming. Additionally, it introduces a new Game Launcher, simplifying the process of launching recently played or updated games.
Addy’s envisioned OS also incorporates a widgets section, allowing users to drag and drop widgets onto the desktop. Examples include real-time CPU usage monitors and a game booster, enabling users to optimize system performance further.
The gaming-oriented Settings in Windows offer customization for RGB-supported devices and various Focus Modes to prevent disruptions during gameplay. Users can effortlessly switch between performance plans for optimal gaming experiences.
Furthermore, this iteration of Windows 12 prioritizes customization, acknowledging that a gaming OS should encompass more than just performance enhancements.
